As well as providing riding as a recreational experience MPEC
also offers a comprehensive range of vocational courses and careerships leading
to recognised qualifications.
Flagship and TechNorth training organisations offer
traineeships at MPEC. The trainee receives a wage and training for up to 2
years with the reassurance of annual holiday, days off and the achievement of
NVQ Horse Care Level 2 along with the invaluable experience of work.
Traineeships are available for anyone between 16 to 24 years of
age.
A Modern Apprentice can be offered when a full-time
employee meets the criteria entitling them to a traineeship. The benefits of
regular hours, a wage and holiday entitlement are enjoyed by the trainee whilst
receiving training and experience. The MA receives training whilst in an
employed status for 3 years and NVQ Level 3 is the target
achievement.
These programmes are in partnership with a local
college. The daily content for week day programmes includes a riding session,
tutored Stable Management Practical and Theory, with the last hour of the day
for yard practicals and assessments. Programmes are also available in the
evening and through weekend workshops, so there is opportunity for everyone to
find a slot or attend a combination of sessions. All students have tutorial
reviews to monitor progress and plan their training, the method of achievement
depends on the programme which has been taken
up.
The decision of which course to enroll on
depends on the individuals circumstances, preferred method of achievement
and final goal. We are able to guide you as to which will be the best choice
for you
